About
Mediterranean rosato from Sardinia, made from Cannonau (the local name for Grenache). Cherry, citrus, saline edge from the coastal vineyards. Coastal Italian summer, bottled.
Sella & Mosca farms 520 hectares around Alghero on Sardinia's north-west coast, on ground the estate describes as calcareous, clayey and sandy, naturally rich in iron. Sea breezes move through the vines all year, and that ground leaves a faint saline edge behind the fruit.
The Anemone is made with a light touch: a quick press, then just enough skin contact to pull colour and aroma without picking up tannin. The winery finishes it cool in steel to hold onto freshness. Violet carries the nose, cherry runs through the palate.
Sella & Mosca has worked this coast since 1899 and is one of Sardinia's largest, best-known estates. Serve it well chilled as an aperitif, or beside seafood, antipasti or a simple salad.
Producer note
Sella & Mosca is one of Sardinia's largest and best-known wineries (estate dates to 1899). Cannonau is genetically identical to Grenache but Sardinian terroir gives a distinct character.
