About
Soft red fruit and citrus, clean easy finish. The Tuesday-afternoon-in-the-garden bottle. Does the job, no fanfare.
Mezzo comes from the Limestone Coast, roughly halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide. Terra rossa soil over limestone gives the region's fruit natural acidity and a distinct varietal character.
Winemakers Keeda Zilm and Luke Broadbent make it without acidification, and any oak comes from real barrels rather than staves or chips. The name mezzo, Italian for half, nods to the region's location and to the Italian families who have long worked its vineyards.
It's dry and vegan-friendly, best served well chilled. Pour it with seafood, a light salad, or on its own in the sun.
