About

Sparkling Pinot Noir rosé from Adelaide Hills fruit grown across the family's vineyard sites, made low-intervention — minimal additions and gentle handling from fruit to bottle, on a carbon-neutral, solar-powered operation that runs organic compost and cover crops. Pale pink with a fine, persistent bead: strawberry, raspberry, grapefruit and green apple with roasted almond and brioche behind, crisp acidity against a touch of gentle sweetness, finishing dry. Bright, juicy and seriously refreshing. Vegan friendly.

Producer note

Emmalene is a partnership of two Adelaide Hills families — the Bartsches, longtime fruit growers, and the Bulmans, winemakers — and the name appears in both family trees. The labels are drawn from grower Tim Bartsch's gran's 1941 school art project.

Ekin Wine Co

Sparkling Pinot Noir from a single Langhorne Creek block of 27-year-old MV6 vines on red alluvial sandy loam, machine-picked in the cool of the night and pressed gently to catch the grape's natural salmon blush. Fermented dry, low and slow at 13 degrees, then held in tank around six months and bottled with a light 5.5 g/L dosage and minimal finings. Red apple, white strawberry, yellow nectarine and grapefruit rind on the nose; zippy, sherbet-like acidity carries Turkish delight, rhubarb and dehydrated orange. Vegan friendly.

La Vieille Ferme (Famille Perrin)

Sparkling rosé built on Grenache and Cinsault vinified by direct pressing, joined by Pinot Noir, from vines on limestone soils. The base wine rests in stainless steel tanks before the prise de mousse puts the fizz in the bottle. Fresh red fruit leads — raspberry and wild strawberry — over pomelo citrus and white flowers, with a delicate peach core and crisp, fine bubbles. Best served well chilled, between 5 and 7 degrees.

A crisp, brut-dry Blanc de Blancs made entirely from Chardonnay grown on an elevated, exposed site in South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula. Made using the Charmat (tank-fermented) method rather than traditional bottle fermentation, it carries a fine, persistent bead, plenty of regional minerality and a tangy green apple and lemon character with a touch of orange blossom. Built to be poured young and chilled, not cellared.
