About

Charlie O'Brien's Silent Noise Heaven's House Party Pet Nat blends Pinot Grigio and Shiraz from McLaren Vale, made organically with low sulphur and minimal intervention using the ancestral pét-nat method. Nectarine, dried apricot and lychee lead the nose, with peach, white strawberry, an Angostura Bitters-like spice note and a lingering Turkish Delight finish on the palate. Best served well chilled.

Producer note

Charlie O'Brien built Silent Noise as his own label alongside his family's Kangarilla Road winery in McLaren Vale, making his first wine — a shiraz — while still in high school. He farms a section of the family vineyard organically, without herbicides or pesticides, and says his approach is to let the fruit lead rather than over-work the winemaking.

Pinot noir leads this Tasmanian sparkling rosé — 77% with 23% chardonnay — handpicked at Pipers River and the Tamar Valley and gently whole-bunch pressed. Bottle fermentation and a minimum of eighteen months on tirage build fresh brioche over strawberries, rose petals and a lift of Turkish delight, the pale salmon colour carrying a fine persistent bead into a rich, creamy palate that still finishes dry and vibrant.

A crisp, brut-dry Blanc de Blancs made entirely from Chardonnay grown on an elevated, exposed site in South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula. Made using the Charmat (tank-fermented) method rather than traditional bottle fermentation, it carries a fine, persistent bead, plenty of regional minerality and a tangy green apple and lemon character with a touch of orange blossom. Built to be poured young and chilled, not cellared.
