About

Full-bodied, dry Barossa Valley shiraz with inky purple colour and dense black fruit — blackberry jam, plum pudding and liquorice — lifted by black pepper and mocha oak. Velvety tannins carry a generous, ripe palate through to a long, mouth-coating finish.

Kaesler

Shiraz from Kaesler estate vines between 35 and 47 years old, fermented for a week and then rested mostly in older French oak so the fruit leads. Vibrant fruits of the forest and cassis on the nose with hints of spice box, then a supple, elegant palate of blackberry, blueberry and black cherry threaded with redcurrant and raspberry over soft, silken tannins. Drink now or hold four to five years.

Shiraz drawn from two contrasting parcels: a certified-organic block on Hahn Road at Sellicks Hill for richness and plush dark fruit, and the cooler, higher home block at Clarendon for lift, structure and finesse. Gently fermented in small open fermenters for 12 to 16 days, basket pressed, then matured twelve months in French and American oak. Layers of blackberry, ripe plum and subtle spice ride velvety tannins — fruit-driven, lively and generous.
