About
Murnang di Renzo is a white blend from Renzaglia Wines' di Renzo range, made by third-generation winemaker Sam Renzaglia at the family's Bathurst vineyard from fruit purchased across the Central Ranges — predominantly Vermentino grown at First Ridge Wines in Mudgee, with a smaller portion of Sauvignon Blanc from a Riverlee-grown block near Orange. Part of the Vermentino is fermented on skins in concrete for texture before blending, and the finished wine is unfined and unfiltered. Aromatic and textural, with layers of white nectarine and honeydew melon, a savoury white-pepper spice note, and a persistent, saline-edged acidity.
Producer note
Sam Renzaglia developed the di Renzo range in 2020 as a lower-intervention, earlier-drinking counterpart to his family's classic Bella Luna wines, sourcing fruit broadly from growers across the Central Ranges rather than only the home O'Connell Valley vineyard. Renzaglia Wines was named the 2022 Wine Companion 'Dark Horse Winemaker of the Year'.
