About
Sourced from the organic Bassham Vineyards in Barmera, on iron-rich sand over limestone, this Fiano is built for warm-weather drinking. Expect frangipani and pineapple on the nose, golden kiwi and apple, with an almond-kernel character running into apricot and nectarine pip, wrapped in a luscious, honeyed, waxy texture that's a signature of Unico Zelo's Fiano range. Bright acidity keeps it refreshing rather than heavy — the winery calls it their own team's daily drinker rather than an occasion wine.
Producer note
River Sand is one of six to eight single-vineyard Fianos Unico Zelo bottles each year under the Riverland GI. It's a distinct wine from their flagship Jade & Jasper Fiano, which sources mainly from the Ricca Terra vineyards elsewhere in the Riverland — River Sand comes specifically from the organic Bassham Vineyards in Barmera.
