About
Unico Zelo's flagship white is Fiano grown without irrigation on ancient sandy limestone soils around Waikerie in South Australia's Riverland, sourced mainly from the Ricca Terra vineyards. Jasmine and white peach blossom lead the nose, opening onto a fleshy, textural palate reined in by racy, crackling acidity. Vegan friendly, made by Australia's first Certified B Corp winery, and built as an everyday drinking style rather than a wine for the cellar.
Producer note
Unico Zelo was founded in 2014 by Brendan and Laura Carter, who met studying oenology and agricultural science at the University of Adelaide, working from a converted 1920s cold-storage building in Gumeracha in the Adelaide Hills. Fiano was their first release and remains their best-known wine; the winery became Australia's first Certified B Corp in 2019. Jade & Jasper is distinct from Unico Zelo's River Sand Fiano: Jade & Jasper is sourced mainly from the Ricca Terra vineyards in Waikerie, while River Sand comes from Bassham Vineyards elsewhere in the Riverland.
