About

A dry (trocken) Kabinett-level Riesling from Koehler-Ruprecht's Kallstadt plots, including fruit from the limestone-rich Saumagen site. Lime zest, green apple, white peach and Meyer lemon sit over crushed limestone and fresh herbs on the nose, opening with air to wet stone and citrus blossom. The palate is dry, energetic and finely structured, with bright acidity, a pronounced mineral core and a long, saline, precise finish shaped by extended lees aging in large neutral oak casks.

Producer note

Koehler-Ruprecht is a Kallstadt estate with more than two centuries of winemaking history, known for classical, age-worthy dry Riesling. Long-time steward Bernd Philippi built its reputation on long, spontaneous fermentations and aging in large neutral oak casks; since Dominik Sona's 2009 acquisition the estate has kept that approach, farming old vines at low yields on the limestone-influenced Saumagen and Steinacker sites and operating independently of the VDP.
