About

Dave Fletcher is an Australian who settled in Barbaresco and makes his Nebbiolo in the village's old railway station. This is the straight Barbaresco: rose petal, red cherry and dried herbs over spice and tar, with fine tannin and bright acidity carrying a long savoury finish. Fermentation is spontaneous, ageing happens in barriques at least ten years old, and nothing is fined or filtered.

Producer note

Fletcher took an oenology degree in Adelaide, went to the Langhe for a harvest at Ceretto and stayed, eventually heading their red wine production. He and his wife bought Barbaresco's abandoned railway station and turned it into their cantina and home, and he caps his own production at 30,000 bottles a year.
