About
Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussanne — the southern Rhône white template. Stone fruit, herbs, body without weight.
The Saurel family has farmed vines outside Gigondas since 1821. For generations they sold the crop to negociants. Joël Saurel ended that in 1996 and began bottling under the family name. His son Romain now makes the wines, and the vineyards have held organic certification since 2012.
This white is the door into a range better known for its reds. It comes from the same warm country, farmed the same organic way. Nothing about it is fancy, and that is the appeal.
Drink it young and cold. Roast chicken is the easy match, and it handles garlic, herbs and olive oil without flinching.
