About
Cab-led, properly structured, secondary character emerging. A genuine introduction to mature Bordeaux.
Château Bernadotte sits in the northern Haut-Médoc, hard on the border of Pauillac. Lafite and Mouton Rothschild farm just a few kilometres away. The estate carries the name of Marshal Bernadotte, a former owner and officer under Napoleon, and holds Cru Bourgeois Supérieur rank.
The 2016 blend runs half Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot behind it, plus splashes of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The Médoc rates 2016 among its best recent vintages. That shows in how much life the wine still has at ten years old.
Decant it for an hour and cook something worth the bottle. Roast lamb or a rib eye will meet it where it lives.
