About
La Morra is typically the more elegant, perfumed side of Barolo (versus Serralunga's power). Rose, red cherry, fine-grained tannin. Drinks beautifully now.
Andrea Oberto took over his family's farm in La Morra in 1978 and turned it fully to vines. The estate now covers sixteen hectares around the village and stays in family hands.
This is the house's village Barolo, built on La Morra fruit. Oberto also bottles two single-cru Barolos, from Rocche dell'Annunziata and Albarella, and the same hands make all three.
The style here is juicy and generous, and the wines age well. Pour it with beef, game or a mushroom risotto, and give the bottle an hour of air first.
Producer note
Andrea Oberto is a respected La Morra-based Barolo producer.
