Langhe Nebbiolo gives you the Nebbiolo style — rose, tar, red cherry, fine tannin — without committing to Barolo prices. Real Piemontese character.
Anna Maria Abbona runs her family winery at Moncucco di Farigliano, in the Dogliani hills of the Langhe. She took charge in 1989 and built it into one of the area's best-known names.
The family farms vineyards across three corners of the Langhe. This Nebbiolo grows in the upper part of Farigliano, beside the Dolcetto that made their name. Altitude keeps the fruit fresh.
Serve it a touch cool with braised beef or a plate of hard cheese. There is no need to cellar this one. It is made for the table now.
