About

Tropical, citrus, crisp finish. House-pour territory — no fanfare needed.

Ahi Kā buys grapes only from named Marlborough growers rather than the open market. John Blackmore, the label's founding grower, still supplies the fruit that anchors the range. Each wine stays tied to his vineyard rather than a blended regional pool.

Winemaker Matt Thomson has worked thirty-one vintages in the region. He and Master of Wine Sophie Parker-Thomson built Ahi Kā around paying growers for quality rather than volume. It's a shift away from Marlborough's usual commodity model. The name means keeping the home fires burning, a promise to leave the land better than they found it.

Pour it well chilled as a weeknight glass or alongside grilled fish. It needs no decanting and no special occasion to open.
