About

Pinot Noir from just under a hectare of the Crausot premier cru at the southern tip of the Givry appellation, where highly calcareous soils give wines of finesse and precision. Fully destemmed, fermented in tank, then matured a year in French oak (around 70% new) and rested several months in tank before bottling. The 2023 shows bright red cherry, wild strawberry, violet and subtle spice over fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity and a focused, mineral finish — elegant rather than full-bodied, and built to cellar.

Producer note

François Lumpp is a second-generation Côte Chalonnaise vigneron who set out in 1990 to make site-specific Givry, working only Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the appellation's best premier cru parcels.
