About

A McLaren Vale chardonnay named 'Four O'Clock', night-picked to preserve natural acidity and fermented cool in temperature-controlled stainless steel. Part of the ferment is left on solids for texture, and about a third of the wine spends six months maturing in seasoned French hogsheads, giving a gentle toasty edge without masking the fruit. Expect stone fruit — nectarine and peach — with lime and a touch of green apple, finishing crisp and zesty. Grown organically on the Bosworth family's own McLaren Vale vineyard.

Producer note

Winemaker Joch Bosworth has grown chardonnay on this site for decades, as did his father Peter before him — fruit from the Bosworth vineyard went into the first couple of vintages of Penfolds' flagship Yattarna Chardonnay.
