About
Cherry, red fruit, fine tannin, real polish. The reliable Yarra Pinot pick.
Half the fruit here comes from the cooler, higher Upper Yarra, half from the valley floor, across estate and grower vineyards. The 2024 season opened with a cool spring and clean flowering, then squeezed the whole harvest into a few quick weeks. The result is vivid fruit carried on bright natural acidity.
In the winery, 30 per cent goes in as whole bunches, all of it hand picked and hand sorted. The wine spends eight months in French oak barriques, only a tenth of them new. It then goes to bottle by gravity, without fining or filtration. That light touch is why it tastes of wild strawberry and cherry with a hint of stemmy crunch, not of winemaking.
Roast duck or mushrooms are the match. Drink it now or hold it a few years, it works either way.
