About
Cool-climate intensity, fine-boned, age-worthy. Delamere is one of Tasmania's defining Pinot houses.
Delamere belongs to Shane Holloway and Fran Austin, a husband-and-wife winemaking team. Shane grew up on his family's Adelaide Hills vineyard and first trained as a marine biologist. Fran spent nine years at Bay of Fires before joining him at Pipers River in 2011.
The pair were finalists for Gourmet Traveller Wine's Australian Winemakers of the Year in 2022. That recognition rests on exactly this kind of bottle: estate pinot from their own close-planted rows, made start to finish by the owners.
Cherry and red-berry fruit runs over a forest-floor note. Duck is the classic pairing, and mushroom dishes hit the same register. Serve it a touch below room temperature.
