Finca Las Moras farms more than 1,100 hectares of vines in San Juan, Argentina, with the Andes rising behind the vineyards. The Malbec comes from the Tulum Valley, close to San Juan city.
Malbec and Syrah lead the red plantings here, and the house makes this one for the table rather than the cellar.
Open it whenever the barbecue is on, or beside a midweek pasta or pizza. It pours ready from the bottle, no decanting needed. In warm weather, give it twenty minutes in the fridge first. Reds in this style drink better with the edge of heat taken off.
