About
Soft, ripe, plum-driven Argentine Malbec. The friendly entry-tier.
This Malbec comes from Boutinot's growers in Mendoza's Uco Valley, above 1,000 metres. At that altitude the fruit ripens slowly, which keeps its aromatics intact instead of losing them to heat. It's the same trick every high-altitude Mendoza vineyard relies on.
Three-quarters of the blend ferments and rests in stainless steel, kept clean and fruit-forward. The remaining quarter spends six months in French oak barrels already used two or three times, which shapes the wine without adding oak flavour. Winemaker Guillaume Létang uses gentle extraction to protect the fruit and keep the violet aromatics from getting buried under tannin.
Steak sandwiches and barbecue ribs are the pairing Boutinot names for it, and the soft tannin means it won't fight the char. Pour it young. Nothing here is built to sit in a cellar.
