About
Molasses-driven with dark fruit, spice, fuller body, slightly sweet. The classic dark rum.
For more than 300 years the Royal Navy issued its sailors a daily rum ration. The last tot was poured on 31 July 1970, and Pusser's still blends to the Admiralty's final specification. What you taste is the navy's own recipe, unchanged.
The blend is built on stills in Guyana's Demerara River valley, above all the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, working since 1732. Wooden stills run slow and leave heavy aromatic compounds in the spirit that modern column stills strip away. Nothing artificial is added for flavour or colour.
Aging happens in charred ex-bourbon oak under tropical heat, which pushes maturity along fast. Take it neat, over ice, or as the backbone of any dark rum cocktail.
