Frankie's Bloody Mary Mix

A ready-made Bloody Mary base from Frankie's Fine Brine, the American pickle house, in a 900ml bottle. Tomato paste carries it, with horseradish, celery salt, vinegar and ground habanero doing the spice. Pour it over ice, add your own vodka and you have the drink.

Water and tomato paste make the base and the rest of the bottle reads like a pantry shelf. Vegan Worcestershire, balsamic and distilled vinegar, lime juice, horseradish and molasses go in, then celery salt, garlic, black pepper, mustard, dill and ground habanero.

The habanero and the grated horseradish are the parts you notice. It lands savoury rather than sweet and the vinegar keeps it lively. The drink needs very little work once it is in the glass.

Over ice with vodka to taste, garnished with a pickle and a celery stick, is the intended serve. It is vegan and non GMO, handy when you are making a round for a mixed table. It is also worth a glass on its own without the spirit.
